In this paper, a soft switching interleaved boost converter (SS-IBC) using auxiliary resonant circuit for electric vehicles (EV) applications is proposed. Several phases of the proposed can be connected to make multiphase converter. The operation identical that one phase All are ideally with shifted control signals and controlled by PWM strategy equal frequency duty cycle. considered as cost effective retrofit grid integrated battery charging applications. It affords steady electrical power load not only from utility or classical energy storage systems batteries, but also renewable like photovoltaic (PV), wind fuel cell systems. An appropriate design example demonstrates size components parameters investigated. Analysis, design, simulation presented verified PSIM software on an 8.2 kW setup system conversion efficiency more than 97% over wide output range rated minimum 460 W complete operation. performance validated experimentally downsized hardware 1.0 maximum found 98.78%.
